Terms of use
These terms are an agreement between you and ConferED LLC about using ChatterPoll. By creating an account, or by answering a poll, you accept them. Last updated November 7, 2026.
Who these terms cover
If you use ChatterPoll for an organization, you confirm you may accept these terms for it, and “you” includes the organization. You must be at least 18 to create an account. Answering a poll does not need an account.
Your account
You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, so keep your inbox secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you add to your team. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.
Your polls and answers
You own your polls, questions and the answers collected through them. You give us permission to store, process and display them as needed to run the service for you and your participants, and nothing more.
You are the one deciding what to collect and why. That means you are responsible for telling participants what you collect and what you will do with it, for having the right to ask them, and for following the laws that apply to you, such as privacy, anti-spam and education rules. Do not collect passwords, payment card numbers, government identity numbers or health records through a poll.
Participants own their answers too in the sense that matters: they can change them in a poll that allows it, and can download or delete what we hold about them as described in the privacy policy.
Sending invitations
Only invite people you have a reason to contact, and who would expect to hear from you. Each invitation carries your organization’s name. You must not use ChatterPoll to send spam, bulk marketing or messages that pretend to be someone else. Plans limit how many invitations you can send per poll and per month, and we may pause sending that looks abusive.
What you may not do
- Break the law or ask people to do so.
- Harass, threaten, deceive or collect information from people under false pretenses, including phishing.
- Upload or post malware, or probe, overload or try to get around the limits and security of the service.
- Scrape, resell or reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing one.
- Make polls with content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes someone’s rights.
We may remove a poll or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why when we can.
Plans, payments and refunds
Every new account gets 3 free polls. After that you can buy a Poll Pass for a single poll, subscribe to Pro or Team, or add more people to one poll. Current prices and limits are on the pricing page. Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes, which we add where required.
- Subscriptions renew each month or year until you cancel, using the card on file. Cancel any time from Billing; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Unused polls do not roll over to the next month.
- Poll Passes and added people are one-time purchases. A Poll Pass does not expire.
- Refunds. If something we did wrong stopped you from using what you paid for, write to us within 30 days and we will make it right, including a refund where that is fair. Otherwise payments are not refundable, though we will look at any reasonable request.
- Failed payments. If a renewal fails we tell you, and Stripe retries the charge for a while. If it stays unpaid the plan ends: your polls and results are kept and you can still read them, but you cannot publish new polls until you pay or choose another plan.
- Changing prices. We may change prices for future renewals and will email you at least 30 days before it applies to you.
Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms.
Limits that apply to a poll
Each poll has a maximum number of participants set by your plan. When it is full, new people see a message; people who already answered can still change their answers. Follow-up rounds and changes to a poll do not count as a new poll.
Our service
We work to keep ChatterPoll available and accurate, and we may change, add or remove features. We will give notice before a change that removes something you rely on. Results are computed from the answers received; ChatterPoll is a polling tool, not a scientific survey instrument, and you are responsible for how you interpret and use results.
Ending things
You can delete your account or any poll at any time from the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if the law requires it. When an account ends, what happens to the data is described in the privacy policy. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as payment obligations, liability limits and the rules on disputes, do.
Our rights
ChatterPoll, its design and its software belong to ConferED LLC. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it under these terms. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ConferED LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for anything arising from the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Disputes
Please write to us first at partnerships@confered.com and give us a chance to put it right. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where ConferED LLC is organized, without regard to conflict of law rules, and disputes will be heard in the courts of that state, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and email organizers before it takes effect. If you keep using ChatterPoll afterwards, you accept the new terms.
